2010?

For 2010 I will be competing with North Glouster Motor Cycle Club in the F400 class.

The club races at Brands Hatch, Cadwell Park, Pembrey, Anglesey, Oulton Park, Thruxton & Silverstone.

This will be a big step up from the 2009 season with EMRA, so i will need to be on top form physicaly and mentally.

I have been training on my push bike and at the gym, so that my fitness will be alot better.

My bike is currently at RJS Superbike getting a full overhaul of the engine and chassis, pictures of the progress to follow soon....

I am still on the lookout for new sponsors for the 2010 season, so please feel free to get in touch if your interested, no matter how small or large your help may be.

Thank you, James #98

EMRA Round 6

Woke up sunday morning to be greeted with bright blue skys and no wind, could not have asked for more.In qualifyng i went out and just could not keep the back end from sliding about, and only managed 6th place on the grid, i really wanted to be higher up than that as i still had to secure 3rd place in the championship.

For race 1 i had new tyres fitted as the extra grip was realy needed. I got a good start and after a few near misses in the first couple of laps i was in 4th position trying to chase down 3rd. i finished 4th in race 1.

Race 2 i got and awsome start, I managed to keep 4th place for a few laps whilst hunting down 3rd, managed to take 3rd place on the exit of gerrards, and finished the race in 3rd place, I also managed my personal best fastest lap of Mallory in that race, 58.788 secs, and achieved 3rd place in the Formula 400 championship!!

Then the last race of the day was the novice race, all classes were in this race due to ealrier stoppages, so this made the first few laps a little ineresting, trying to get 5 bikes into 1 corner at the same time is a bit tricky, but i managed to come 1st in my class. So all in all it had been a fantastic day, just like to say a big thanks to my mum and dad, RJS Superbike & BMC racing team.James #98 f400

EMRA rd 2

After a poor start in the first race i found myself halfway through the pack, then through my own fault for trying too hard to make up the lost places, i kept making mistakes, and ended the first race in 9th position! was very disappointed with myself.

For the second race i clalmed myself down and o yes it worked!! made up a few places, and got a fastest lap of 59.967 my first sub 1 minute lap!!!! was very happy, and finished the race in 5th position.

In the novice race i won the 400cc class so was a fantastic end to the day :)

EMRA Round 1

Well the season has started, and it couldn't have gone any better.

Qualifing
I was going really well and the bike felt amazing, seemed to be flying. The sun was out and was quite warm for early march.
I came in feeling very satisfied with my perfomance.
After checking the time sheets for qualifing, i was 4th on the grid! Thats my best qualifing position so far.

Race 1
Race 1 started well and had kept my 4th place position for over half the race, but was having trouble selecting 1st gear coming into the hairpin, which lost me 4th place about 6 laps into the race, and was unable to catch him back up.
I was still happy with the 5th place finish, especially for the first race of the season.

Race 2
I got a good start in race 2 and went into the first corner in 5th place, where i started from. After battling hard i managed to start catching up and overtaking some of the people in front.
By about lap 8 i was hot on the tail of 2nd place, but i didn't have much time left to make my move, but i managed to get past him and stay in front past the chequered flag, coming in 2nd place! Thats my best ever result and i am very happy with that result.

Novice Race
This was help up for quite a while due to an accident in the warm up lap, both guys involved were taken away in ambulances, so i hope they are ok now.
Once the track was clear and the 2 guys were being treated, the race was given the go ahead.
I got a good start giving me a clear run for most of the race.
I came 1st in my class, which really topped the day off quite nicely.

So overall a really good day was had!

Just like to say a big thank you to all involved and to the sponsors, and especially my mum & dad.

First practice session of 2009

Today was my first outing on the freshly prepared zxr400 at Mallory Park.

First thing i had to do was to fit the new bodywork, and i can't believe how good it looks!

Once the bike was ready all i had to do was ride it!! And thankfully it was dry today.

Unfortunately we only had 2 sessions today, due to a very bed accident in the side cars, where 1 person had to be air lifted to hospital.
My first session went very well, and setled into the bike very quickly.
All the work carried out by RJS Superbike was very noticeable, as power delivery was very smooth and the quickshifter worked alot better.
The new uprated brakes worked very well, and were a worth while upgrade.
In the second session i was able to push a bit harder, and put in some quite good times. Most times were 1 minute 02 secs.

Overall today went very well and I am now really looking forward to the first race which is on Sunday 1st March at Mallory Park.
